"14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."- Matthew 24:14
In this passage, Jesus was telling His disciples about things that would happen at the end of the age. They would be delivered up to tribulation and even put to death, and they would be hated by all nations for the sake of His name. There would be people who fall away from the faith, and there would be a rise of false prophets and teachers who would deceive many. Increased lawlessness would cause love to grow cold. Those who endured to the end would be saved.
Even among all this, Jesus told them that the gospel of the kingdom that He preached would be proclaimed throughout the whole world and that it would stand as testimony to all the nations. After this, and only after this, the end would come.
Some of the things Jesus warned about we can see even today. There are places in the world where Christian missionaries are not even allowed access. The false 'gospel' of prosperity is on the increase, even in places where you'd think the message wouldn't even work...impoverished lands like countries in Africa and yes, the Philippines.
Despite all this, as believers we are still called to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the whole world. In fact, because of all this, we should have a greater sense of urgency, knowing that one day, Christ will return and judge the nations with righteous judgment and only those who are in Him can stand. We are to be witnesses for him where we live, but also to the nations. We are to preach the word "in and out of season" as Paul told the young pastor Timothy.
This is where we continue to need your help. First, please pray for us as we prepare for the mission. You can pray for the team (there are 8 of us) as we prepare ourselves spiritually and physically to serve the Lord in Baguio City. Please pray for the people of Baguio City, that the Lord would begin to work on their hearts even now, that they might be able to hear the gospel and have the seed firmly planted in their hearts and that they'd be transformed by the power of His word. Also, please pray for the relationships that will be formed as we work with the local church, that we'd all be on one accord and would be able to continue to share the love of Jesus even after the mission.
Secondly, please consider partnering with us financially. A medical mission takes a lot of resources and travel to the Philippines is expensive. We believe in the Lord for the resources, but we know He uses His people oftentimes to provide them. No amount is too small.
Lastly, if you cannot give, please still pray. No successful ministry effort comes without a lot of prayer. It is not a last resort. It is our starting point and is what sustains all our efforts. God supplies our strength, for we have none of our own.
Please share this campaign with your friends and family if you would like to give others an opportunity to support missions. Thank you and God bless.
Grace and peace,
Michael and Lannie
