"And people who do not know the Lord ask why in the world we waste our lives as missionaries. They forget that they too are expending their lives… and when the bubble has burst they will have nothing of eternal significance to show for the years they have wasted." - Nate SaintNate Saint was a missionary to Ecuador who died in 1956 while attempting to evangelize the Huaorani people, but his life was not wasted. In fact, after losing his life, many of the Huaorani people believed, including the very man who killed him. Steve Saint, Nate's son, was even baptized by Mincaye, the Huaorani man who killed his father years before. Steve still works with the Huaorani people and travels preaching the gospel, often with Mincaye. So, no, Nate Saint's life wasn't wasted. He gave His life so that others could live.Missions is more than just going to another country and feeding and clothing and giving medical care. It is more than building projects and other helpful serving opportunities. Missions is an opportunity to spread the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ, who is the only hope for the world.
Missionaries, both short term and long term, are tasked with presenting Jesus to people who desperately need Him, even if they don't know they do.
Not everyone can go and do missions work. It's hard and takes sacrifice of time, energy and resources. Would you consider praying for the medical mission, and if God would move you to give, to donate what you can to help us go and proclaim the good news of Christ? We need your help in more ways than one.
God bless you.
