Why the Philippines?

The Philippines has a very special place in our hearts. First of all, one of us have lived and grew up there.  Medical mission open up opportunity for us to serve our beloved Filipino people. Secondly, we have seen the lack of solid theology. The bondage of Catholicism and prosperity gospel is very rampant. It's really sad that most of the closest people in our hearts are believers of the lies of bad theologies. Filipinos are so westernized and you can see those many influences in movies, fashion and sad to say religion. When they see something new, they welcome almost anything that is fed by the churches from the West.

The Philippines being among the third world countries is one in the top 20 poorest countries in Asia because of corruption and inability to use the God given rich natural resources. While this tropical country enjoy the beautiful weather due to it's location, it is also the reason why the country is often hit with so many earthquakes and an average 20 typhoons every year. Many places becomes flooded, a lot people loss their lives and properties. With all this news we hear, how can we not have compassion for Filipinos?

The lack of medical professionals to serve the people is also one of the things that made us feel the concern for the people. There is a ratio of 1 medical profession is to 833 individuals. Most people couldn't afford medical insurance therefore most people can't afford to pay doctors and most people can't buy medicine because they would rather spend it for food.

We believe that the Lord places a special love for a certain country in every missionaries according to His purpose. People all throughout the world needs Jesus Christ and this is the ultimate reason why we go and preach the gospel to the Philippines.

"Most people don't care how much you know until they know you care."
We have observed this quotation to be true whenever we do the medical mission. They won't listen to you until they know that you care for them.
